Overview
Introducing Lepinet, simply one of the best lakes for carp fishing in France. This is a beautiful gravel pit with a superb stock of carp – one session saw one angler catch 3 different 50’s and 11 different 40’s.
This is a lake that offers a lot to both experienced and more inexperienced anglers. There are plenty of underwater features and the chance to fish at range (perfect for those that want to do some boat work!) but the number of carp, including many at 40lb+, means it usually produces runs for all.
Lepinet measures in at 29 acres and for booking purposes is split into two venues – Lepinet North and Lepinet South, each covering over 14 acres of water. Floating markers across the centre of the lake defines each half and marks the furthest point to which you can cast from your side. The carp of course move freely across the whole of the lake, as there is no hindrance below the surface.
On the north side there are six well spaced swims – two singles and four doubles – with plenty of water for a maximum of 10 anglers when booked exclusively for your group and a maximum of 7 anglers when booked non-exclusive (so as to allow space to move around if you wish).
The venue is an easy 3hr drive from the port of Caen and 4hr 30 from Calais.
You can prebook swims individually or for groups of 6-10 you will find that it is well priced to book the venue exclusively. For larger groups of up to 20 anglers, it is possible to hire the whole of Lepinet lake (both North and South).
“Between 2 anglers we had 1 x 60lb, 3 x 50lb, 8 x 40lb and 15 x 30lb. Excellent fishing. Well run and superb venue for experienced and also novice carp anglers.”
F.A.Q
How much bait will I need?

We recommend on average 30kg of bait.

What bait do you recommend?

We recommend large pellets, large boilies, floating boilies and corn.

If you supply bait on site, will I be able to get more bait during my stay if I need it?

Yes, we provide pellet and corn bait and you can pick up some more during the week. Please remember to email your bait requirements to us in advance.

Is my UK carp set-up suitable for your lake?

The lake bottom, being a gravel pit, can be harsh on your end tackle. We recommend taking extra leads and hooks just incase. We also recommend the following sizes of equipment: fishing rods 3.5m long, 2.75-3.5 t/c; reception mat, min 1m x 0.5m x 0.2m; net XXL.

What hook size do you recommend?

Normal ground, which can bake very hard in the summer months, but bank sticks are usually ok.

Are any special tactics required?

Snowman and floating.

Can I drive to the lake in order to unload?

Yes and your vehicle can stay close to you.

Can I visit friends in the neighbouring swim whilst leaving my rods out?

Yes, it is possible to walk to the closest swim either side of your own and leave your rods out, as long as you take a receiver with you.

Is the lake secure? Can we leave our gear on the bankside if we go out?

The venue is secured by a locked gate and only other the anglers on the lake have the code. So, if you trust the other anglers, then we think it is fairly secure.

Can we drink the tap water?

Yes, the water is drinkable.

Do you have UK plug points?

There are some adaptors but we recommend that you bring your own just in case.

How far are the nearest supermarket / petrol / tabac?

3km, just under 2 miles.
